Me and the rest of the team spoke up against the level of stress put on us by our boss and he fired all of us

I worked for a door to door sales company for a few months selling home services (window cleaning, eaves cleaning, painting, landscaping, etc.). More recently the boss started putting a lot of stress on us regarding quotas, saying he was going to start cutting our shifts or straight up taking us off the team., while

sending us to areas where it's clear that people aren't able to afford this (kind of hard to clean windows in a neighborhood full of broken windows). On Tuesday we all got together and decide that enough was enough and that we had to send a message to him. We got in a group call on Wednesday morning and worked

together on a message for one person to send in the work group chat and everyone else to react to with a . In response, he said "I'm sorry you feel this way. You can all pick up your checks next Friday" and removed us from the group. He is now down to 2 employees from the 9 he started with.

fractious77 • 20h ago I had a similar experience when I was signing people up for new window estimates door to door. We came in one day and at our morning meeting, we were informed that the branch manager (he was good guy) had been demoted the same level as us and that from now we were no longer

getting lunches and would have to stay late wirhout OT very day we didn't hit the quota. I stood up and said these violated labor laws. This turned into an argument and I got fired after a few minutes. Almost the entirety of the crew walked out on them a few minutes later. We all went down to L&I together, immediately, and each of us filed an official complaint.

. Yupperdoodledoo • 19h ago What you did was concerted protected action under the NLRB and your firings were likely illegal. Please contact your local NLRB office to file a charge. It is free, you don't need a lawyer.

pustak • 5h ago The fact that you approached your boss. together may make this a protected act of collective bargaining. Might be worth. calling a lawyer to run it by them.

Innomen 17h ago . I think you can sue him. I recall another post that said like if you're gonna ask for a raise do it with a so worker. Some kind of collective rights trigger. I'm afk, so I can't look it up.

Sounds like he was having financial problems, and turned his weakness and fear into "tough boss" You called his bluff and he felt cornered. I hope that after he fired you all he thought "oh now what?" Good riddance to him and good luck to you. Nice work.

. Floor_Soft 1h ago He was going to fire you anyway. He gave you an impossible task and then made it seem like your failure to accomplish the task and speaking up about it was the reason but it seems like the business was already doing bad which is why he sent you on such a foolhardy errand.
